One of the killer features of the Apple Vision Pro is its ability to play Spatial Video, a format that adds depth to video captured on your iPhone 15 Pro.
This means it can offer an experience similar to looking at a moment in time, but you can enhance your experience with a third-party app that does it better.
As noted by UploadVR, Spatialify is a $2.99 ’Spatial Video Toolbox’ that can convert video files into 3D video for headsets like the Vision Pro or Meta Quest 3 – and its latest feature puts it further ahead of Apple’s own iPhone camera apps.
Spatialify can record Spatial Video in 1080p at 60fps or 4K 30fps, which already puts it ahead of Apple’s 1080p 30fps limit. And, with the latest update, it can shoot High Dynamic Range (HDR) Spatial Video, something Apple’s own Spatial Video can’t offer.
What’s next for Vision Pro?
It’s unlikely that Apple will want to be seen lagging behind third-party competitors, so there’s a very good chance that something like this could be in the works before WWDC 2024.
While we don’t yet know if we can expect a visionOS 1.x or visionOS 2 release, we do know that the Apple Pencil for headphones is reportedly being tested.
Plus, we’ve got our own wish list of what we want to see – including Persona improvements, Journal apps and customizable home screens. At the time of writing, Apple only committed to “visionOS progress” in its press release.
We will find out more on June 10, 2024.
