User ratings and reviews help developers improve their apps, but it’s not acceptable to annoy users with in-app pop-ups asking for reviews or ratings. Fortunately, Apple lets you turn off those pesky rating and review requests on your iPhone and Mac. Here’s how.
Turn off in-app ratings and reviews pop-ups on iPhone or iPad
If you’re tired of apps on your iPhone or iPad popping up with rating and review requests every time you use them, you can turn off in-app requests from the Settings app to fix it once and for all.
Start by opening “Settings” on your iPhone or iPad and select “App Store.”
Scroll down to find the “In-App Ratings & Reviews” option. Then turn off the switch next to it.
Turn off in-app ratings and reviews pop-ups on Mac
Unlike iPhone or iPad, you can’t disable in-app ratings and review requests on Mac from System Preferences. Instead, you’ll need to do this in the App Store settings.
First, launch the App Store on your Mac. Click on “App Store” in the menu bar and select “Settings”. Alternatively, press Command+, the keyboard shortcut.
In the “Settings” window, remove the check mark from the “In-App Ratings and Reviews” box.
With in-app rating and review popups disabled, apps will no longer bother you to rate or review them. However, it’s important to mention that in the past, some apps have managed to find a way to bypass this setting and send notifications about ratings and reviews. However, Apple strongly discourages this and it seems that it is no longer common.
