Android users currently have plenty of options when it comes to choosing an assistant app on their devices. While Google Assistant and Bixby once ruled the roost, the rise of AI-powered chatbots has seen them evolve into more than text boxes you can use in a browser. Microsoft Copilot added as default digital assistant app on Android

While this is a nice addition for Android users, don’t expect a completely seamless experience just yet. Currently, activating Copilot mostly opens an app, which means it won’t immediately start listening like some other assistants, nor will it offer analysis of what’s on your screen.
However, that doesn’t mean the feature won’t be as useful as Google Assistant or Bixby are right now, or maybe even what Gemini could be. It’s still in beta, and Microsoft will likely continue to work on the app to make Copilot a truly integrated Android assistant. Microsoft has yet to officially announce this, but we assume that by the time it moves to a stable version of the app, more features will be available.
