The Spurs midfielder only made his debut for the club under Antonio Conte last season.

But with Ange Postecoglou at the helm, the African was central to the Australian’s plans.

He has made 23 appearances for the club this season, scoring three times.

However, if football doesn’t work out – Sarr has his eye on something different.

The Senegal international has a unique passion for software engineering.

“I’m continuing to learn about computer software engineering as I pursue it in the future,” he told The Athletic.

“Maybe I’ll pursue a career in software engineering or something.”

Spurs fans have been impressed with Sarro’s performances this season, especially the energy he has provided in the middle of the park.

“It’s a nickname my uncle gave me when I was a boy just starting out,” he said.

“He said I have a strong drive and a great shot in me and it’s like Roberto Carlos.

“Maybe now I’m not so famous for it, over time maybe I’ve lost that special attribute a little bit, but when I go to Senegal they still call me Carlos, especially in my quarter (neighborhood).

“If someone called out the Pope, no one would turn their head.”
