Facebook is the “Internet Home Base” for many people, the first stop to see what’s going on in the lives of family and friends. But whether you’re accessing Facebook on your desktop, phone or tablet, sometimes the social media site doesn’t work as it should. If you’re having trouble with Facebook, here are seven common ways to fix it.
Refresh your browser
If you’re viewing Facebook in a web browser, the first thing you should try is to refresh the page using the Reload button at the top of the browser window. If that doesn’t work, close your browser tab and open Facebook in a new browser tab or window.
Make sure Facebook is working
It’s possible that the problem isn’t on your end — the entire site may be down, or at least significant parts of it. You can quickly find out the status of Facebook by searching for “Is Facebook down” in your web browser or by checking the Facebook status on DownDetector.
Clear your browser cache
If you are having problems with Facebook or just getting to certain pages on Facebook, you may need to clear your browser cache. It only takes a few clicks to clear your browser’s cache, and that might solve your Facebook connection problem. Be careful though: clearing your cache will log you out of all the websites you use, so you’ll have to log in again the next time you visit them.

Close and reopen the application
If you’re using the Facebook app on your iPhone, Android, iPad, or other tablet, it’s possible that the app is suffering from some kind of software bug. Restart your device
Sometimes you can fix the Facebook problem by restarting your device. Turning the device off and on again removes any memory problems that may exist and allows all software to start from scratch.

Update or reinstall your app
If you still can’t launch Facebook and you’re using a mobile device, you can try updating the app. Facebook may misbehave simply because the app is outdated and buggy or incompatible. If it doesn’t work in Chrome on your computer, try opening the page in Firefox.
Consider using Facebook Lite
You may have problems with the regular Facebook app if your internet connection is slow. In that case, consider using Facebook Lite, which is smaller and lighter than the standard app. Facebook’s parent company Meta advertises Facebook Lite as compatible with internet speeds as low as 2G, with a theoretical maximum download speed of 48 kB/s.
A few other possibilities
If there is a certain person that you suddenly cannot find on the social network, it is possible that they have deactivated or deleted their Facebook account or that you have been blocked or you have blocked them. You will need to unblock someone on Facebook if you want to see their profile again.
