Cheap PCs available February 10 in San Diego
San Diego families can get used laptops and desktop computers with educational software for as little as $100 at an event hosted by the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) and Computers 2 Kids.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 10 at Canyon Hills High School, 5156 Santo Road in San Diego. Debit and credit cards are accepted along with cash.
Those interested in receiving one of the computers are asked to register by February 8th to ensure availability of a computer. Pedestrians will also be accommodated if possible.
“This is a great partnership that assists SDCOE in its continued work to ensure that every student has the opportunity and access to thrive,” said Dr. Paul Gothold, San Diego County Superintendent of Schools.
Every refurbished computer includes Windows and Microsoft Office, as well as anti-virus and educational software. There will also be an option to sign up for internet access.
Thousands of families have received computers through a partnership between SDCOE and Computers 2 Kids, which has been distributing computers to low-income families since 2004 to help close the digital divide between those who have access to technology and those who don’t.
