ChatGPT no longer requires user login

OpenAI opens ChatGPT more users by enabling the use of the platform without the need to create an OpenAI account.

“Our mission is to make tools like ChatGPT widely available so that people can experience the benefits of artificial intelligence. More than 100 million people in 185 countries use ChatGPT every week to learn something new, find creative inspiration and get their questions answered. Starting today, you can use ChatGPT immediately, without the need to sign in,” OpenAI wrote in blog post.

According to the company, this feature will be rolled out gradually, so some users will still be required to create an account until the rollout is complete.

Even without creating an account, users will have access to an option to opt-out of allowing OpenAI to use what you provide in ChatGPT training queries, OpenAI confirmed.

However, some disadvantages of not creating an account include not being able to save your chat history, share chats, or use certain features like voice and customized instructions.

The company says it’s also introducing new content protection measures along with this change. This includes blocking queries and generations for a wider range of categories.
