What’s the story
Beeper, the multi-platform chat app, has announced plans to revamp its desktop and iOS apps.
This decision comes after a comprehensive overhaul of the Android app in beta last month.
Android’s redesign has resulted in a faster, more secure platform with improved features.
The company aims to mirror these improvements in its upcoming updates to its desktop and iOS apps.
The user base is growing as plans for renewal are developed
Beeper’s announcement of renewal plans also follows a significant increase in its user base.
The company recently opened for public access, resulting in the addition of 70,000 new users.
The upcoming desktop and iOS apps are expected to be “similar in scope to the Beeper Android remake,” adopting the same design aesthetic and feature set, according to a confirmation given to 9to5Google by Beeper.

Future plans include performance improvements
Along with the planned revamp for the desktop and iOS apps, Beeper also intends to fix bugs and improve the performance of its Android app.
The company plans to introduce features like archiving support.
Furthermore, Beeper should turn on Texts.com team into their workforce.
All of this follows the company’s recent acquisition by Automattic, a company that also bought Texts last year.
Beeper recently eliminated its waiting list
In other Beeper-related news, the company recently eliminated its waiting list and no longer requires an invite for new users.
Those interested can now simply download the app on Android, iOS or desktop platforms and start using it for free.
Before this change, Beeper had approximately 450,000 users waiting to access the service.
While there’s no set timeline for the desktop and iOS app overhaul, Beeper predicts it won’t be long before they’re implemented.
