Apple may announce macOS 15 with these AI features for compatible Macs

Apple recently announced that it will host its highly anticipated WWDC 2024 event on June 10 for developers as well as the general public. The company will take center stage on Day 1 to announce a slew of updates to its entire product line, including iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, watchOS 11, and more. While we’ve covered a wide range of topics related to what users should expect with the launch of iOS 18, you might be excited to know that Apple also plans to announce artificial intelligence features with the release of macOS 15.

We’re only a few months away from June, and the company has invested heavily in bringing AI features to a wide range of Apple products. Since the devices in Apple’s walled garden are interconnected in one way or another, almost all products must receive new AI features with their corresponding software updates, including macOS 15. However, most of the featured additions will only be part of the company’s iOS 18 and macOS 15 releases.

If you’re not sure, we’ve prepared a list of AI utilities that Apple will announce for its major macOS 15 release later this year. Some AI additions could be limited to Macs powered by the company’s M series chips, but that’s pure speculation at this stage, so be sure to take the news with a grain of salt. Check out the list of AI features coming with the macOS 15 release.

Improved Siri

Apple is training Siri with large language models for its arrival on iPhone and Mac. They will be able to perform more complex tasks with deeper integration with the Shortcuts app.

AI in Xcode

We previously reported that the company is working on new AI tools that will work alongside Xcode so that developers can easily write and edit code with assistance.

AI in Pages and Keynote

Much like Apple is developing AI tools for system-wide iPhone apps, the company is also expected to introduce AI-powered deck creation and writing in Keynote and Pages. The utility could work similarly to Google’s Gemini with predictive text.

Playlists generated by Apple Music AI

In macOS 15, users will be able to generate playlists in Apple Music using AI. Existing algorithms can generate playlists based on your listening habits and preferences. However, details about the new features are scarce, so nothing can be said for sure until Apple officially announces the feature.

Apple could offer a wide range of additional tools with macOS 15, including the possibility of a new chatbot designed specifically for the Mac. It was previously reported that the company is looking to partner with OpenAI, Google and Baidu to bring its generative AI technology to the iPhone and possibly the Mac.

The Shortcuts app could also see a big boost with the ability to automate complicated tasks with multiple apps involved in the process. In addition to this, system apps like Messages and Notes could also benefit from the generative AI technology that comes with the release of macOS 15. Which feature are you most excited about?
