Magento 2 File Folder Guide with Custom Option

Magento 2 File Map with Custom Options Extension helps admin to add product file for download with some custom download options.

The admin can choose from fur option types like dropdown, radio button, check box and multi select. It will allow customers to download the product according to the offered option and method.

Installation is very simple like standard Magento 2 extensions.

#1 downloadable module

First, you need to login to Webkul Store, go to My Account>My Purchases section, confirm, and then download and extract the contents of this zip folder on the system.

#2 Load the folder

Once the zip module is extracted, follow the path src>application and then copy application folder in Adobe Commerce Cloud root directory on the server as shown below:

Unzip the appropriate extension zip and create a folder named Webkul(vendor) and filemapcustomopt(module) inside your Magento/app/code/ directory, then move all the module files to the Magento root directory Magento2/app/code/Webkul/filemapcustomopt/ folder.

Run the following commands through the terminal

php bin/magento setup:upgrade

php bin/magento setup:di:compile

php bin/magento setup:<strong>static</strong>-content:deploy

Multilingual support

So go to Store>Configuration>General>Locale Options for multilingual support. Also, select your preferred language from Locality option.

Therefore, a multilingual configuration can be made in this way.

Language translation

To translate the module, go to the following path in your system src/app/code/Webkul/Filemapcustomopt/i18n/en_US.csv Open the file named en_US.CSV to edit as shown in the image below.

Then replace the words after notch(,) on the right in the file with your translated words.

After editing and translating the CSV file, save the file name according to your region language and country code, such as – of_OF.CSV.

After that, upload the translated file to the same folder from which you downloaded it. Now your module translation is complete.

Therefore, language translation can be done in this way.

After the module is successfully installed, configure the module from Stores > Configurations > Map file with custom option.

Admin can map custom options with product download links. To map the option that the administrator needs to reach catalog > Products.

Now admin can add any new product or edit any existing downloadable product to map custom options.

Note – Administrator must enable permission for Download by custom option. If set to YES, then admin can map custom option with download link and display it on frontend. If set to NO, the default function of the downloadable product will work.

Create connections

The admin will now create downloadable product links by entering the title name and browsing the file from the system, and allow sharing permission if needed. Now save the product to download for custom mapping.

After the product is saved now, the admin can add the custom option in the custom options section.

Add the following details to map the download product link.

Option Title – Add a title for the custom option.

Option Type – Select a custom option type from among the four options i.e. Dropdown, Radio Button, Checkbox and Multiple Select.

Depending on the type of option selected, it will be displayed on the front end. Admin can also check links section where download links are mapped.

Once the custom mapping is done, the user can check the downloadable products and download them according to the mapped options.

Customers can login to their account and it will open the product page with the desired product to download.

Multiple selection of a custom option type – Customers can choose multiple options when purchasing a product.

The selected type of drop-down option – When an administrator selects a type of drop-down option.

Similarly, the custom options will change for the radio button and checkbox option type and the customer can select the option and proceed to checkout.
