The Apple Sports App organizes your favorite teams, integrates with Apple TV

Apple has made some big bets on sports streaming, from Friday Night Baseball to Major League Soccer, and now it’s packing real-time scores, stats and other content into a new app, called Apple Sports.

The app is currently available for download on the App Store in the US, UK and Canada with support for English, French and Spanish. It looks similar to many third-party sports apps already available. Users can select the sports and teams they want to follow, and Apple Sports will populate a feed showing scores, stats and more.

According to Apple, fans can “easily navigate between scores and upcoming games” and see things like betting odds, lineup details, team stats and play-by-play information.

The app also boasts integration with Apple TV and related streaming apps so you can check the score and then watch the match. Apple says the app will sync with favorites selected in Apple’s My Sports experience and on Apple TV.

That’s especially nice for MLS because Apple has exclusive streaming rights with the soccer league. He also broadcast Friday night baseball games with MLB for a time.

There are a number of sports, leagues and tournaments that people can follow, including MLS, NBA, NCAA men’s and women’s basketball, NHL, Bundesliga, LaLiga, Liga MX, Ligue 1, Premier League and Serie A.

“We created Apple Sports to give sports fans what they want — an app that provides incredibly fast access to scores and stats,” said Apple’s senior vice president of services, Eddy Cue, in an Apple press release. “Apple Sports is available for free in the App Store and makes it easy for users to stay up to date with their favorite teams and leagues.”

Currently, the app is only available for iPhone on models running iOS 17.2 or later.
