iOS 17.4 Beta Features: What We Know
The iOS 17.4 beta already teased the world of side apps on the iPhone, and they also got an option to choose a default browser that wasn’t available anywhere else for iPhone users. But there’s more in store for iPhone users, and here are the new features being added that will be useful for older iPhones as well.
Protection against stolen devices
As the name suggests, iPhone users can protect their device with an extra layer of security if it is stolen or lost. Apple will activate multi-layered biometric security using Face ID and other personal information to prevent your data from being stolen.
New options for Vision Pro headphones
Apple has launched new Vision Pro headphones and some users will notice with the new version a new feature called ignore double tap for iPhone users.
Apple’s Battery Health Refresh
Apple is adding options to battery health, giving iPhone users more details about the health of their battery and how long it will last before it needs to be replaced. Apple has added a new Battery menu in settings where you can see if the battery status is normal or not.
CarPlay upgrades
The iOS 17.4 update will make it easier for cars with dual-screen integration to use the drive-friendly feature.
The web screen apps from the home screen are going away
While iPhone users in Europe are getting some new features thanks to the new rules, they’re also losing access to web apps on the home screen after the iOS 17.4 update rolls out. The restriction is enforced because Apple must allow third-party browser engines to run in the region.
The iOS 17.4 update is expected to roll out in March, which is just a few weeks after the beta version is cleaned of all bugs to offer stable performance.
