Odoo Access Control Management: Provide Hassle Free Access!!

When you have a company, it is very chaotic to restrict user rights separately, but not anymore.

Odoo Access Control Management centralizes access controls for fields, models, menus and more, simplifying configuration of restrictions without complex rules.

CHARACTERISTICS

1. You can restrict specific user access rights such as create, edit, delete, views, actions, archive/unarchive, duplicate and export for a model.
2. It also controls user-specific access rights for any model field, making fields invisible, required, or removing external links for specific users.
3. This module conditionally restricts access rights to the model, restricting creation, editing, deletion and reading based on the value of any field.
4. This module restricts access rights to hide buttons, actions, links or tabs in any model’s views for specific users.
5. Controls specific access rights to hide navigation menus and submenus of any module for specific users.
6. Hides filters and groups based on selected access rights.
7. Allows you to hide chatter individually.
8. Limit user settings to ‘read only’, hide chat and turn off advanced mode for simplified control in Odoo.
9. It also restricts model-wise access rights for parts such as message sending, log notes, and user activities.
10. You can restrict developer mode for any user.
11. This module also restricts the installation/uninstallation/update of any module.
12. It will also be limited for XMLRPC.
13. You can disable the import and export feature for any user.

ASSEMBLY

1. After you purchase the app from the Webkul store, you will receive a link to download the zip file of the module.
2. Unzip the file on your system after the download is complete. You will be able to see a folder called ‘access_control_management.’
3. Copy and paste this folder inside the Odoo plugins path.
4. Now open the Odoo application and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate Developer Mode.
5. Then open the Applications menu and click on “Update module list”.
6. In the search bar, remove all filters and search for ‘access_control_management’
7. You will be able to see the module in the search results. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

WORKFLOW

1. After installation, open Access Control Management.

2. You can create a new user profile by clicking the new button. You can also edit an already created profile.

3. Fill in the profile name and select users to apply access rights. Furthermore, under the general tab, enable the user access you want to remove.

4. Navigate to the Hide menu and click Add Line. Select the menus you want to hide.

4. Moving forward to hide actions, select the operation and actions to disable or hide actions.

5. Under Remove Actions/Models, select the mode in which you want to disable the operation and hide the scheduled actions.

6. Enable the Remove Chatter option to hide chatter from users.

7. Here you can see that the applied access rights to restrict product creation are set to “Product Template”.

8. Similar to other limited access rights such as hiding inventory settings, you apply for the requested access right according to your business needs.
