The University of Huddersfield has partnered with Coursera to launch an online Masters in Management

A new online degree offers future business leaders the opportunity to earn a postgraduate degree at an award-winning business school no business experience or application required. Students can register their interest from today.

The University of Huddersfield has today announced that it is partnering with Coursera to launch a new Masters in Management, which requires no business background or application. The MSc will offer students across the UK – and worldwide – the opportunity to train for a career in a variety of leadership roles at the intersection of management and technology, from a university whose teaching has contributed to Huddersfield Business School being named Times Higher Education’s Business School of the Year.

By offering merit-based entry, Coursera and the University of Huddersfield will expand access to postgraduate education offered by the award-winning institution. All students, regardless of previous achievements or educational background, are entitled to try the first module of the Master of Science in Management and, if they successfully complete this introductory module to the required standard, they will gain access to the full degree programme.

The Online MSc aims to create business leaders who possess the combination of technical and human skills needed to thrive in an economy increasingly defined by rapid digitization and automation. To this end, participants will complete modules from their mobile devices and according to their schedules, which include:

  • Global professional: this module provides an overview of the key skills leaders need to succeed in today’s highly mobile and interconnected business world. Participants will acquire the skills necessary to offer an adaptable, interculturally aware and sensitive approach to management to future employers, colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Digital marketing strategy: participants will learn about digital marketing strategies, tools and data analytics needed to nurture an effective online business presence.
  • Research project: students will conclude the program by completing a detailed section of business research, applying key applied research skills to solve a specific business problem.

The degree will be awarded entirely by the award-winning University of Huddersfield, which is number one in the country for the National Teaching Fellowships – which mark the best UK lecturers in higher education – having won 22 since 2008. The University of Huddersfield has also been awarded an overall rating of 5 stars from the QS Stars quality assurance framework, which classifies the institution as world class in a wide range of areas including teaching, employability, facilities, innovation, internationalization and inclusiveness.

Coursera continues to expand its degree portfolio, which includes more than 50 degrees from 29 of the world’s top universities, and currently serves more than 22,000 students. The University of Huddersfield’s new degree closely follows recent announcements from other leading institutions launching degrees on Coursera, including the University of California, Berkeley and Dartmouth College.

Coursera currently supports the skills development of 3.6 million learners in the UK, of whom over 230,000 – an increase of 76% year-on-year – have gained at least one of Coursera’s 40+ entry-level professional certificates – providing learners with skills relevant to job. from industry leaders including Meta, IBM and Google.
