Our smartphones are great! They are powerful and beautiful, but without the right software, all that power means nothing. Today we’re bringing you our weekly selection of iOS and Android apps that caught our attention.
We’ll be doing this on a weekly basis, so expect more cool app picks. “Best” is always subjective, but we will try to find interesting apps that really add value and can help you in your work, hobbies and everyday life. Of course, we won’t forget the fun either, so it will be a mix of everything.
This week’s focus is visual creativity! Here are some really cool and powerful apps that can up your game and help you express your inner artist. And there’s a really cool app as a bonus (we promised fun though). Let’s go!

If you feel intimidated by the sheer number of features, don’t fret; Procreate Pocket comes with user guides to help you unlock your potential. There’s also real-time drawing assistance to help you perfect your strokes. In addition to sketches, drawings and scenarios, you can also create animations, use vector formats, import and export as Adobe PSD files, all on your phone. The list of features is too long to include here and more than justifies the asking price.
Adobe Express: Graphic Design
Platform: iOS, Android
Price: Free with in-app purchases

You can access thousands of free fonts and images, create and convert images, and use effects and layers. It is a very powerful software on your phone. Furthermore, you can quickly export and share your newly created visual on all popular social networks and applications with just one touch of the screen.
If you opt for a premium membership, you also get access to Adobe Photoshop Express for mobile and Adobe Express for web and mobile, along with the images and fonts listed above.
FaceApp: the perfect face editor
Platform: iOS, Android
Price: Free with in-app purchases

There are also fun tools to add those mustaches you can’t normally grow, make you look older or younger, add makeup and more.
The infinite painter
Platform: iOS, Android
Price: Free with in-app purchases

Infinite Painter may look minimalist, but behind it is a powerful engine. This app will allow you to use your pen with full pressure and tilt support to get a realistic brush feel and interaction with the canvas.
The free version will give you three layers in device resolution, Solid Fill, Lasso selection, Basic Transform and Symmetry tools, Seamless Pattern projects, all built-in brushes and editing brushes, and Smart shape detection feature. Which is a great starting point.
CapCut – Video Editor

From AI-generated effects to filters, titles and stickers to professional transitions and in and out animations, this app has it all. It’s also one of the preferred choices of many pro and semi-pro creators, so it has to be good, right?
Some call it the best video editor on mobile. We won’t go that far, but it’s certainly one of the most popular and you should definitely check it out.
Bonus: Universe Splitter
Platform: iOS
Price: $1.99

In quantum physics, at some level, there is something called the Haisenberg Uncertainty Principle. Basically, this limits our understanding of the properties of particles at a very fundamental level. Universe Splitter uses this principle to help you choose between two options. Let’s say you want to go out tonight, but you’re also wondering if it’s better to stay home and chill and watch Netflix.
Insert these two options into the application interface and press the button. What happens next is incredible. The app sends a signal via the Internet to a laboratory in Switzerland, where the device fires a photon at a semi-transparent mirror. Whether a photon is reflected or passes through a mirror depends on Haisenberg’s principle; it is truly a random outcome that no one can predict.
There are two detectors to receive the photon and trace back the path it took; these are your A and B choices that you originally entered into the application. So there you have it: perfectly random coin flips using the most basic quantum principles! Why Universe Splitter? Some physicists believe that each such quantum choice splits the Universe into two versions containing both outcomes. Isn’t that super cool?
That’s it for this week, folks! Share your thoughts on our picks in the comments section below and stay tuned for more next week!
