Google’s search support team said in a post that the move is designed to make Advanced Search easily accessible. Prior to this update, Advanced Search was hidden inside the Search Settings menu, as Google notes, so the move makes sense.

The Tools the section mentioned here is visible within the horizontally scrollable list of options that appear when you search for something, such as all, News, Images, Videos, Purchaseetc. Advanced search will now be available in the same horizontal tab list, which will appear at the end of the list under Tools.

Advanced search option within the search tool

In my opinion, Advanced Search was barely known to most people due to limited visibility. But with Google now making it more readily available within the results page, usage of this feature should grow significantly. There are already some helpful tips and tricks to make your search more efficient, but this advanced search option is among the easiest. It offers filters that allow users to refine results based on factors such as words and numbers used in the search, as well as language, file types, or specific websites or domains.
