If you own an iPhone, you’re already familiar with the option to use a passcode to protect against prying eyes. You can also use Face ID or Touch ID if you prefer to go the biometric route. Some apps like banking apps may also give users the opportunity to protect them with passwords and in-app biometrics. But what if you want to do this with an app that doesn’t have the built-in feature?
For those apps, App Lock is available in App Tor and does exactly what you’d think it would do based on its name. Once configured, App Lock allows people to completely hide apps and lock them behind Face ID or Touch ID. This is all possible using the Screen Time API to control app access so there’s no hacking or potential privacy implications here. What’s more, users can even choose to make the app disappear from the home screen entirely. In fact, the apps will even be hidden from the app library. also.

Selecting apps to be locked behind biometrics is easy, and users can even choose to cover entire categories.
There are additional features as well, including the ability to block app deletion and even block all in-app purchases.
Bad side? Although App Lock is a free download, a subscription is required to fully unlock it. That subscription is expensive at $30 a year, but if you want to make sure you keep your apps away from prying eyes, this might be worth every penny.
