AxiomEHR has a simplified, intuitive experience, leaving more time for better patient care
TUCSON, Arizona, March 20, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Health Information Management System (HiMS) today introduced AxiomEHR, a brand new AI-powered electronic health record (EHR) solution with a unique architecture that supports data-driven decision making, flexible care coordination and general incentive resilience quality-based care.
Tailored specifically for behavioral and integrated healthcare providers, AxiomEHR features AI-driven automation that streamlines inefficient workflows and drastically reduces the screen time required by conventional systems. Organizational data, shared and displayed in a new highly customizable user interface, informs every health care decision. In pilot tests, AxiomEHR saved clinicians an average of two hours per day compared to other solutions.
“ChangePoint Integrated Health has developed a true collaborative partnership with HiMS over the years, and the value they bring to our business is unmatched,” he said. Jeff Oakes, CEO, ChangePoint Integrated Health. “AxiomEHR stands out among other EHRs, leading in function and quality-based care. The future of healthcare includes artificial intelligence, and AxiomEHR is at the forefront of innovation and process improvement.”
Intelligent automation puts provider time back to patients
AxiomEHR automates the workflow from data collection to insight, starting with the most time-consuming and tedious job: clinician notes. The software listens closely to clinicians’ conversations with consenting patients and uses advanced natural language processing to record verbatim transcripts, extract key information and turn spoken words into structured data.
AxiomEHR relies on post-office visit conversations to automatically populate hundreds of important data fields, including the patient’s disease, history of current illness (HPI), diagnoses, treatment options, and social determinants of health. The software measures the patient’s mood (positive, negative or neutral) during the office visit and, if spoken to, creates detailed profiles of the patient’s body systems, eg cardiovascular, endocrine, gastrointestinal, digestive, etc.
The system even creates service plans, schedules appointments and lab tests. To improve accuracy and relevance, the software’s AI is trained on the service provider’s own data and continuously learns from it.
AxiomEHR’s AI-driven automation similarly supports back-end operations such as revenue cycle management. The software intelligently addresses issues such as under-coding, under-documentation, contract management, over-billing, missed claims appeals, and blind spots (eg, gaps in records for patients receiving both primary and behavioral health care). In the pilot, billing codes were 23% more accurate and 33% more complete than the market leader.
Finally, the ‘Enterprise’ EHR becomes customizable according to the user
Because every organization and role is unique, AxiomEHR can be fully configured by providers and customized by users according to their responsibilities, roles and personal preferences.
With AxiomEHR, any employee – from clinician to nurse, psychiatrist, psychologist, billing officer or social worker – can make the platform their own by intuitively placing functions, features and applications where they want in the software, hiding those they don’t need and managing the software exclusively by voice if they want it.
Capabilities like these meet universal needs in healthcare today: less screen time, more intelligence and more automation. In fact, with AxiomEHR, users can access any feature they need with just one click by working within a dashboard designed for optimal workflow and task navigation. The interface deliberately relies on the principles of gaming to optimize the user experience.
Finally, AxiomEHR provides a transformative experience for senior executives. Traditionally, CFOs, CMOs, and CEOs have struggled to extract insights from EHR systems’ stored data. AxiomEHR changes that by incorporating a ChatGPT-style chatbot that answers clearly stated questions about all the data in their organization, such as the prevalence of certain diagnoses, progress note completion rates, comparative claim volumes, or the likelihood of patient cancellations.
“We’ve invested thousands of hours studying how behavioral health provider organizations do their jobs, including the activities that are most tedious and frustrating,” he said. Khalid Al-Maskari, founder and director of HiMS. “We found that the integrated healthcare space is riddled with paperwork and inefficiencies. To alleviate these challenges, we leveraged our experience with artificial intelligence to produce a new EHR experience that is transformative for everyone it touches.”
