Your iPhone is running low on space and you’ve noticed duplicate photos saved? You’re not alone: users around the world have complained in recent days that photos from the WhatsApp chat app are being duplicated during auto-saves from chats.
As you know, the Meta messaging app saves photos to the photo library on all mobile devices by default. As mentioned recently, iPhone users started facing an issue where images sent in WhatsApp chats were saved twice: each image was saved twice.
The problem appears to have arisen after Apple released its latest iOS update about a week ago, in which it added various innovations to various messaging programs, including new emojis. As mentioned, many were affected by photo duplication that “eaten up” space on the storage volume of Apple devices.
Meta has confirmed that there is an auto-save image bug and that they have pushed a new update to the popular messaging app. So, if your iPhone is not updating apps automatically, you should update the WhatsApp app as soon as possible.
