Microsoft is ending support for running Android apps and games on Windows 11

Microsoft announced that it will no longer support the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) as of March 5, 2025. This subsystem made it possible to run Android apps from the Amazon Appstore on Windows 11 PCs. After that date, users will not be able to install or use such applications or receive technical support from Microsoft. The function worked for less than a year – from March 2023.

The reasons for Microsoft’s decision have not been officially announced, butmay be due to low demand for Android apps on Windows or competition from other ways to run Android apps on a PCsuch as Google Play Games or third-party emulators.

Users who need to continue using Android apps on Windows are advised to look for alternative solutions before March 5, 2025 or switch to another operating system.
